Stem cells for Cancer

What is Cancer?
Cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells anywhere in a body. These abnormal cells are termed cancer cells, malignant cells, or tumor cells. These cells can infiltrate normal body tissues. Many cancers and the abnormal cells that compose the cancer tissue are further identified by the name of the tissue that the abnormal cells originated from (for example, breast cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer).

What causes the cancer to develop?
Cancer begins in the cells which are the basic building blocks that make up tissue. Tissue is found in the breast and other parts of the body. Sometimes, the process of cell growth goes wrong and new cells form when the body doesn’t need them and old or damaged cells do not die as they should. When this occurs, a build up of cells often forms a mass of tissue called a lump, growth, or tumor.
More dangerous, or malignant, tumors form when two things occur:
• a cancerous cell manages to move throughout the body using the blood or lymphatic systems, destroying healthy tissue in a process called invasion
• that cell manages to divide and grow, making new blood vessels to feed itself in a process called angiogenesis.
When a tumor successfully spreads to other parts of the body and grows, invading and destroying other healthy tissues, it is said to have metastasized. This process itself is called metastasis, and the result is a serious condition that is very difficult to treat.

Individual types of cancer
There are said to be over 200 different types of cancer. We have the following common cancer types;
• Anal cancer
• Bladder cancer
• Bone cancer
• Breast cancer
• Cervical cancer
• Colon cancer
• Colorectal cancer
• Endometrial cancer
• Kidney cancer
• Leukemia
• Liver cancer
• Lymphoma
• Ovarian cancer
• Pancreatic cancer
• Prostate cancer
• Stomach cancer
• Testicular cancer
• Thyroid cancer
• Vaginal cancer
• Vulvar cancer

What are natural killer cells and how do they work?
Natural killer (NK) cells are effector lymphocytes of the innate immune system that control several types of tumors and microbial infections by limiting their spread and subsequent tissue damage. Recent research highlights the fact that NK cells are also regulatory cells engaged in reciprocal interactions with dendritic cells, macrophages, T cells and endothelial cells. NK cells can thus limit or exacerbate immune responses. Although NK cells might appear to be redundant in several conditions of immune challenge in humans, NK cell manipulation seems to hold promise in efforts to improve hematopoietic and solid organ transplantation, promote antitumor immunotherapy and control inflammatory and autoimmune disorders.

Traditional treatment for Cancer includes;
1)Chemotherapy
2)Radiation &
3)Surgery

Our Cryo Stem Cell center provides the followings for the cancer treatment
1)Detection of the total NK cells count and checking of NK cells activity
As the NK cell is the main key to prevent and control from cancer, we can prevent from having cancer by checking them. If the NK cells count lower in your body or has lower NK cells activity, there is high risk of having cancer.
2. NK cells for the treatment of cancer
By using the NK cells to treat the cancer patients in combination with other treatment methods such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery to achieve better treatment outcomes. As our center has own laboratory where we culture the NK cells to provide the best quality NK cells, so there has better result to treat and control the cancer.
